Dell's return policy is horrible
Dell's return policy is horrible. Do not order consumer electronics from Dell. Do NOT ORDER CHRISTMAS gifts from dell unless you do not want to be able to return them.
I ordered a consumer electronic product from dell (Flip Video)
The device had problems and was defective.
I called Dell customer service and they granted me an RMA#. I was told that I would receive a shipping label to return it. I never recieved the shipping label (December 22nd). I should have asked how to return it without a shipping label. My guess is the CSR who had less then desirable English skills misspelled my email address.
I purchased the same camera from a local store to give a Christmas present. I tried calling several times but the queues had long waits so I called back after the holidays.
The RMA number was cancelled because they did not receive the item and they will not issue another one because 21 days has passed. My 21 days was up on December 25th. I explained to Dell that the situation was not my fault that the emailed shipping label was sent to the wrong address. So now I am stuck dealing with Flip Video for a replacement and I guess I will have to sell it on Ebay. :-(
I am extremely disappointed because I have given dell a lot of praise in the past for the price\performance\quality ratio of Dell servers and SAN devices. I have personally installed hundreds of Dell servers and made Dell lots of money. I feel betrayed!
