How do I refund my copy of Windows Vista?
I originally ordered an Ubuntu Linux laptop, twice. Unfortunately Dell killed that line of laptops (Inspiron with Ubuntu) and I had to replace the order with one for an Inspiron that came with Vista. I have NOT opened any of the packaging and I immediately wiped the hard drive of the laptop and installed ArchLinux on it, thus I have NOT accepted the license of Windows Vista. How do I obtain a refund for this unused piece of software?

Inappropriate? The license for Windows is tied to your system's BIOS, and third party affilliate software installed on the factory image actually helps subsidize the cost of the OS.
It would therefore usually more expensive to ship the PC without the software, and therefore there is no refund to be given. Your PC probably would have cost you more if there was a way to ship it without a Windows License.
