INSPIRON 1545, held at 9% battery but will not charge, service tag not recognised and only 6 MONTHS OLD!?
help i have a dell inspiron 1545 bought only about 6 month ago!!
i have tried the tech support but my service number is not recognised!!
we may have bought the computer from euro dell but we are uk residence and assumed it was bought from the uk??
the problem:
i completed some virus protection stuff and now when i rebooted it says power adapter not recognised, when i try unplugging and replugging the adaptor it comes up with a quickset message;
" The AC power adapter type cannot be determined. your system will operate slower and the battery will not charge. please connect a Dell 65W AC adapter or higher for best system operation"
OK... so im not sure what reseating the adaptor means and have no idea how to check the battery is in place, (do i have to start unscrewing things??)
BUT the adaptor is keeping my laptop at 9% power and has a blue light on as it always has.
I cannot find the customer number with which we bought the laptop, also dont have the box >:( durr didnt expect it to break so quick!) does my warranty cover this problem if my service number isnt recognised?
so pleease is my battery done for? is it my ac adaptor or is at a software issue caused by past viruses or spy-bot search and destroy cleaning up the viruses and maybe changing the registry??
how can i speak to dell? my servicetag is JJ0P8H1.. :''(''''''

Inappropriate? When i bought my Dell Inspiron 1545, they told me that i have to charge it the first
time for about 12 hours. After that i could use it normally. Other thing is in the
manual. It says, the battery have a 300 cicles live (charge/discharge). That means
you can use your battery and laptop 300 times without the ac power. After that maybe
will be dead. So, i think that ́s what happened to you. My recomendation is to extract
the battery and use the laptop without it, and only use it when is necesary. I hope
this help you. Bye
I’m happy
