Inspiron 6000 Won't Power On; LED's blink though?
My Dell Inspiron 6000 will not power on. When power button is pressed, you can hear the HDD go "whirr" briefly, and then the LED's blink 3 times. I have not had any success in determining the cause of the problem based on the blinking of the LED's; can anyone here perhaps enlighten me?
On a side note, I thought the hard drive itself might be shot; I took it out and put it in an enclosure, and it still comes up fine when used with other computers (as a mass storage device). So is it just the boot sector on the HDD that's shot? Or something else hardware related?
