Monitor Died

I ordered a Dell E228FP on 8/8/08; with a 3 year limited warranty. There isn't any service tag on the monitor.

The monitor goes blank after about 2 seconds, tried changing from DVI to VGA , same thing. Hooked it up to another PC, still the same problem. If I leave it off for a couple hours, it will stay on a little longer, then goes blank. (The front light stays green) Tried the self help on Dell site.

The Dell site only works if you have a service tag number, and can talk to a service tech. I can’t use the telephone, a hearing difficulty; I have to use email only.

Found a customer service email on Dell Community, gave him the monitor problem, and said I couldn’t use the phone, the guy sent me a canned message and they could only give me a replacement within the first 21 days, and then gave me a Toll Free number to call for tech support.

I wrote a letter to Michael Dell at the corporate office on 2/20/08, just plain frustrated, I know it won’t do any good but it made me feel better.
