multitouch on tablets - can it compete with touchstream lp from fingerworks?

i want to switch to a multitouch tablet, but i fear that with going away from my current input device to a touchscreen, i in fact loose many of the (really quick) interaction ways i do now.

right now i'm working with the touchstream lp from fingerworks, a multitouch keyboard/mouse/gesture input device. i use this happily for 4 years now. it recognizes masses of gestures.
