Noisy ac plug on XPS 1530 but works fine on batts

Getting alot of noise from the ac adapter on my xps 1530 using audio application. Works fine on battery but noise when ac is pluged in. Reserch indicates this is due to the earth in the new 3 prong plug. Can I operate laptop on an 2 prong plug (as orinally supplied with early XPS 1530 models? If so where can I get one?

I’m going deaf for the wrong reasons
