The Inspiron 1420 that Should have been an XPS
The Inspiron 1420 and the problem I seem to have. The first inspiron i received last year had a bad motherboard and dell promptly replaced the laptop when they could have just sent a tech over with a new motherboard. now when i have other problems (Mouse pad heating up, keyboard keys sticking, laptop over heating), they want to send other a tech instead of replacing the laptop. Why oh why did i pay for a 3 year warranty with accidental damage if they wont replace the laptop when its needed and replace it when its not. I have classes everyday and i use the laptop everyday despite these really annoying problems? There is no way i can wait at home for a technician, when i need to go to class? What do i have to do to get somebody who understands?? Should i ask for level 3 tech support?

Inappropriate? My son's motherboard broke after 4 weeks after the warranty expired. Dell is a bad company & has bad service and bad products. I will never buy a Dell again. My son is in computer Tech school and he has also been royally screwed by Dell and he lost all his homework.
I sympathize with you very much. I am now buying him a Lenovo. -
Inappropriate?1st. chat with support. It is quicker and you get a email with exactly what was said, proof if you were lied too. 2nd. to replace the laptop tell them you dropped it and it will not turn on, complete care covers this and they will not try to send you out replacement parts.
And to "Peter's mom", Enjoy your low end poor quality IBM laptop. You didn't think they changed the company name because they were know for high quality items do you?
