way can my dell inspiron 531 not put up 2nd harddive
i plug in the sata dirve and the boot the computer and nope not there so i try to see if the line was off in the bios. but it woult let me alter the setting.

Go into your bios
1step, go into the main section and
HDD SMART : DISABLED
2step
Section :Advanced / integrated peripherals / serial-ata configuration/
and set SATA controller : SATA 1+2
that means that you activate the sata port 1&2 + 3&4
And put the RAID thing (under SATA CONTROLLER) disabled
