Why did I buy a Dell that is hampered?
So my Dell XPS 630 with GTX 280 graphics card is "hampered". I'd like my money back please or another computer. I bought my 630 several months ago.
I understand that Chris from Dell made the following statement;

That is the only option. Have you benchmarked that card in the XPS 630? In my testing, the 8800s and 9800s on the XPS 630 score just as well as other PCs that have 16 PCI Express lanes. I do not believe those video cards even use 8 PCI Express lanes. The only video card I have tested that is hampered by the XPS 630 is the GTX 280.

Inappropriate?Have you played games or tested this PC? I was in error. The GTX280 fully utilizes all 8 PCIe lanes and I do not "see" a difference in gaming. My 3DMark06 scores show a gap but it was due to the processor and ram differences, not the video card slot.
XPS 630i GeForce GTX 280 = 14,785
XPS 730x GeForce GTX 280 = 18,892 -
Inappropriate?No doubt it uses all 8 lanes, but what would it use if offered 16 lanes?
