Why don't they recall them??

I've been reading these boards and looking at other forums and it's crystal clear to me that Dell has created a very poor, inferior product in the Dell XPS M1330. This laptop is poorly designed and completely unreliable if you use it for personal or business work/information. It saddens me that so many of these machines broke down after the warranty was up.

There is no doubt that Dell fully knows of this yet they continue to pretend to fix an unfixable machine and consumers are not being compensated. Why don't they recall them??? Instead consumers are being asked to buy an extended warranty after the fact???!!!

I'm lucky, my M1330 broke down before the warranty is up. My question is will Dell do the right thing? I hope so because I want my money back. They've already replaced the mother board and it's still not working. Like many of you, I'm really tired of calling tech help and describing the problem over and over... for crying out loud, don't they take notes... isn't it in my file when I tell them it is doing exactly the same thing as I described an hour ago??? I don't know about you but having computer problems is one of the worst things ever. And it's tough to find a tech who really cares about what's going on, and that makes it even worse.

Just a note for some of you...since one of the common problems with this laptop is a defective mother board, beware that they don't remove someone elses broken one and install it in yours.... That's what happened to me. Good luck. I'm switching to a MAC.

sad I’m mad and disappointed in DELL

    Hi friend
Let me inform you something here.
Dell sells thousands of XPS computer everyday but very few people have this type of issue...
Let me inform you if your comp is under warranty then Dell will surely help you get the comp fix and also Dell does not entertain any third party component getting added to their comp...
I am telling you everything personal
Even I use a Dell XPS m1330 laptop but I never had any issue with my comp and it is working as it is design to work though I am using it from past 15 months I never had any issue with it...
It completely depended on you. How you use your comp and it is not a Dell issue...

Let me give you an example
If you purchase a car and then while you are driving it there is some problem with the car. Who is responsible is it you or the car manufacturer?
Like-wise Dell manufactures its comp by keeping the usage of people...
It’s totally on you how you use your comp....

    Hello Mohd,

You are so full of it. Let's talk about your comments first and then I'll comment on Patricia's post.

    You clearly state: "Hi friend
Let me inform you something here.
Dell sells thousands of XPS computer everyday but very few people have this type of issue... "

You do not clearly state what issues (there are many) that Dell deals with.

    You state that
..."Even I use a Dell XPS m1330 laptop but I never had any issue with my comp and it is working as it is design to work though I am using it from past 15 months I never had any issue with it... "

Let me ask you, are you using one with the NVidia GeForce CPU on the MB or the integrated MB??
If you're using the latter (integrated), then I would believe your story. But if you're using the former MB, then read here:

    http://getsfn.com/dell/topics/dell_xp...

AND then make a contributing comment in THAT forum...

THERE ARE MANY others in the forum that are dissatisfied....

WHY have you as a DELL EMPLOYEE chosen ONLY to answer this particular complaint. WHY NOT ANY of the others (as in the one I cited above???)
I see in your profile that you've responded to a "few other" issues like battery problems....

I challenge you to comment on the link above......

Here's the reality Mohd...(sorry to crush your dreamworld)..

Regarding Patricia Vessy's comments on the MB:

As a purchase agent for clients across Canada, I have owned and operated 3 Dell XPS M Series laptops that have the defective NVidia chip MB.
All three of them failed within the warranty periods that I owned them. 2 of them failed 3 times in the warranty period and the third one failed
me twice. I was lucky~ only because I had the warranties. That being said, they replaced each of my defective NVidia chip MB with the SAME defective MB,
hence the multiple failures over the waranty period.
After these incidents, and in each case I spoke with supervisors (all of them having their heads up their @ss) they still to this date refuse to acknowledge
this problem as there fault and in all these types of cases, they make all customers run through the gauntlet before they will even consider a repair for your
    laptop.
As I said, I was lucky, I had warranties on my units. For those of you that have laptops that are out of warranty that may possibly get a FREEBIE FIX, realize this:
This is NOT A FIX!!~they only replace your faulty Nvidia chip MB with the SAME defective MB. This is only a bandaid solution. IT will fail again - GUARANTEED!!

After these incidents, I recommended to my clients to no longer purchase any DELL units because of this fiasco and how they treat their customers.
Lucky for me, they continue to follow my recommendations.

DELL is HELL~ Just look at this forum as an example....when was the last time they even responded
to any of these complaints.... there are plenty of other forums that continue to voice the same concerns here.

I cancelled many $$$$$ orders with them and they know this. In my line of work I continue to keep all my clients informed of their shady past practice~
in fact, there is presently a pending class-action lawsuit against DELL here in Canada based on a similar situation involving their laptops that was approved
earlier this year. There are plenty of other laptops in the market that will outclass DELL.

Also, all of you should know that (in my line of work) I did find a relatively inexpensive FIX $250 cdn (outside of DELL, of course as they've stil got their head up their @ss) based out of
the westcoast in Canada. Cheaper than DELL and a reliable shop that has the proper equipment and knowledge to replace the NVidia chip on the MB (so long as the MB has not been damaged).
The problem lies with the original design - the way the NVidia chip has been soldered onto the MB.

Dont be fooled by DELLS offer of a freebie fix - it's only a bandaid that WILL unravel quickly.

I was wondering why no recalls aswell Patricia, they have a similiar problem with GPU failing in XPS M1730 too, but of course it not a problem and never has been apart from the hundreds upon hundreds of fried GPU on forums around the world. Its time Dell soughted out the low price poor quality of customer care that the Bangalore Call centre is providing, country based would be alot better even if we had to pay a little more for the goods at least we would get a naitive language speaker who does not recite scripts all day long stating terms and conditions.

Good Luck in getting resolution, I think we all need it in DELL HELL.
