Delta is gouging with their change fees

I book way in advance and pay delta for four tickets for a flight in august. should be good for Delta right?

So we find out school starts earlier than expected so we need to move the flight by a couple days. And i was moving the flight from a busy sunday in the summer to a thursday or friday. Should be good for delta right?

Wrong. $150 change fee per ticket regardless of how many tickets are on the itinerary and regardless of how far away the flight is. I spend $600 more after just spending $1700 for four tickets two weeks ago.

uggh. Delta isn't going to get rich on change fees. i can see the hassle for them for dealing with last minute changes. Discouraging loyal customers from booking in advance doesn't help you. Cap the fee per itinerary, or charge for changes within 30 days of the flight.
