Allow limited users to access all tasks, by checking this box.
Currently limited Users can view individual tasks only if they are assigned or cc'ed to them. This is VERY time consuming, when limited users are your customers, who you are giving access to the project so they can oversee what is going on. We basically have to share every single task with the customer.
Instead, it seems like it would be better to have a checkbox like this:
+Check this box to allow limited users access to "all public tasks" in this task list.
And then all tasks are shared with limited users, except those tasks that are set to private or something.
Can you offer a means to let our customers view all milestones and tasks by default, unless any are set to private or (not viewed able by client or certain people)? In our business there are only a few tasks we don't want limited users to see, as opposed to the inverse.

Inappropriate?Currently the Limited Users can see all the Milestones on the Milestone page. If you want to show some Tasks to the Limited Users, then you can assign those Tasks to "Anyone" within a Task List having permission for the Limited Users.
-
Inappropriate? We have projects with 200 tasks, each of which are assigned to different individuals on the project. We need everyone, including Limited Users, to see the progress of all tasks. The only solution is extremely tedious, as it requires sharing every task with everyone on the project. Alternatively, if we set the tasks to "Anyone" then no one would know what they are responsible for.
Understand?? -
Inappropriate?Yes got your point.
What you can do is assign the task to the responsible person and cced that tatsk to "Share (cc) with Everyone" so, every one in the project can see the progress of the task. It might solve you problem. -
Inappropriate?Which so tedious when you have 20+ projects, each with lots of tasks... that is is causing Deskaway to become counterproductive for our use.
Surely, there can be a per project, or per milestone setting that will allow the Project Lead to make all tasks visible by everyone or Limited Users, even if they are not shared. -
Inappropriate? The TASK sections in regards to assigning to and viewing is a feature that needs to be addressed immediately. I have a feeling DeskAway is going to lose a lot of customers over this.
It's a pretty basic function: "Regular Users" should be able to see ALL Tasks in THEIR project without having to be CC'd.
And there should be an easy "flag to action" function for tasks that require handing off certain aspects. This tool is becoming time consuming and counterproductive.
I’m disappointed

Inappropriate? We have noted this new feature and have passed it to the development team. Thanks for this feedback and this will be implemented soon.
-
Inappropriate? We have implemented Open Task Lists. Read more about it here - http://www.deskaway.com/blog/2009/11/...
I’m excited
-
Inappropriate?Sadly, this still doesn't allow those users to be able to edit the task, which would let them have the ability to re-assign certain tasks to different members of the team.
I’m liking the new update, but still a little sad.
-
Inappropriate?I also just noticed that now the filter of "Show tasks assigned to" doesn't actually work on open tasks lists because it ends up showing everything instead of just the individual it was assigned to.
I’m super sad now.

Inappropriate?Hello Angela,
Thanks for bringing this to our attention. This "Show tasks assigned to" option for Open Task List issue is fixed and working fine. Now you can check this feature at your end.
Swati.
I’m happy
