Challenge: Multiple Person Task Assignment
Some tasks require multiple assignments. There are two reasons for this. One is that the task requires two people to complete it. Another is that the same task must be performed by more than one person, and it would be nice to show this as one task with four different checkmarks. For example, the project is recruitement. The team consists of four people, each of whom has to read each application. So an example of a task is "Review John Smith Application." You want to see who has done it, and who has not yet done it, all in one place.

Inappropriate?Sure, this can happen and its a good idea. I have put it down as a feature request. Sorry, don't have an ETA for this as of now.
I’m excited

Inappropriate?I ran into this yesterday and want to add a vote for this feature. I ended up putting each task in four times so that I could follow progress and make sure it was showing up on everyone's dashboard. Even the ability to duplicate/copy a task would help in the interim---it just wasn't worth creating a template to do this.
-
Inappropriate? This also a problem for us. Mostly for time tracking purposes. I do think only one person is "responsible" for a task, but multiple people should be allowed to log time on a task. For instance someone will work on a task and but be unable to complete it. If another person finishes the task, they should both get their time logged. Also as mentioned above, any work that is performed as a team.

this is one of the best points

Inappropriate?Another way this affects us: I have a project setup for training. For each training assignment, I either have to create a task for each member (to track individual progress) or, the way I do it now, create a single task and have each team member comment the task when they have individually completed it. Both situations are less than ideal
I’m slightly frustrated

Inappropriate?Corey makes the point perfectly. Though we've not used it for long deskaway looks useful in so many...but it would be so much better with multiple users on a task and tracking individual users on a task. Otherwise we're making unnecessary work creating tasks for each member and not tracking project time, and therefore costs, fully...surely this is a basic of project management?

Inappropriate?hi,
The CC feature is inadequate for us, b/c any one of the cc'd people can complete the task. we need to assign the task to multiple people and have the task remain open till ALL people complete the task.
For example, "Task: Return Survey to HR" must be completed by all people.
DeskAway is good. This would make it great for us.
Any idea on timeline??
Thanks,
m

Inappropriate?Don't have an idea on the timeline yet.

Inappropriate? Not sure if this is a similar idea or not (previously posed it as a question):
We need some sort of re-assignment feature when a certain task requires action from someone else (NOT who it was originally assigned to). And this needs to be a feature available to regular users.
It would be great if on the Dashboard there was a section titled "Action required by me" - so if there are tasks or issues that require action by me, I can see them all in one place.
The solution could be:
In comments, have a drop down menu that is a "Requires action by" - and when someone's name is selected, it puts that action (task) on their dashboard under "Action required by me."
I’m stressed because this is becoming a HUGE barrier to success with this application.

Yeah this is a good idea. Thanks for the suggestion, we will look into these features for our future updates. -
Inappropriate?Seriously, any one of these suggestions would be helpful.
Deskaway is of limited use for us with no ability to review or confirm that a task has been completed before it just disappears off the radar.
How can it have taken so long for so little to happen on this??
I’m very frustrated
