Inappropriate?I have to second this idea. The APIs are identical so I don't *think* it would prove to be that difficult. The nice thing is that Laconica is federated, so it works similarly to email. Although anyone can set up a server you can choose to follow people on another server and vice-versa. Leo Laporte's Twit Army uses it.
