When clicking a flag on the timeline it jumps to the present date. The event cannot be viewed. Scrollbar does the same thing - when stopping at the current date it jumps to the present date.
How can I delete images from events? (or any other collateral material, for that matter)
I created two timelines and then convinced my publisher to embed them in a recent story I wrote for PR News Online: http://www.prnewsonline.com/news/tops... (url may break in a few days)
Once I add an image, there's no way to drop the image without deleting the event and recreating it! I added an image that inconsistently displays and I have to delete the whole event to fix it.
i entered an event for the year 450. when dipity added the event to my timeline, suddenly it has a year of 449. while its not a major issue as the date is only an approximate anyway it still makes me wonder why this has occurred and so i thought i should let you know that it has occurred.
It would be nice if each editor would have a separate color so that we can differentiate who posted what from the color. Also, I guess a different color for each source would be nice too. Or maybe, instead of color, having the name of the person or the source next to the titlel.
I am having trouble with the log in/log out process.
It seems that I am not completely logged out: when I click on log out, close the dipity windows, reopen a dipity window, and my username still appears on the top right corner. Then when I click on "You", it says I need to log in, but it takes me many attempts to be successful to login again.
I had a date wrong in a Picasa folder, and didn't realize it until I entered in my Timeline. I fixed it in Picasa, and even deleted the feed in my timeline. I checked the folder, and it is now showing the right date. When I reentered the feed into my timeline, I found that it had not updated it. How do I get it to re-pull the correct data, or is there a way that I can manually update it?
My timeline has sources like twitter, a wordpress blog, flickr, etc... However, when I tweet or post on my blog, the new content does not show up on my timeline. The only way I could get new tweets to show up was to delete twitter as a source and then add it all over again. Something seems wrong here. Should these be updating automatically?
If not, I would suggest this as something to look into. Or have a button that you click that updates the content from sources. I have seen this on some social network aggregators like iminta.com (they have a button that says "update intas").
Here are a few suggestions. Please let me know if you prefer that I lump many ideas in a single entry to spread them out.
1- Enable tags for timelines and events. This would aid in classification and search.
2- Enable rich text formatting in Events text body. In particular, URL linking and basic formatting like bold and italic
3- Enhance search result display, by enabling sorting by publishing date, number of events, popularity, most viewed, etc., similar to YouTube.
After only a few day I have over 400 items in my timeline. It starts to become a pain that the list
a) is in the wrong order (oldest 1st)
b) has no pagination. I would love browse by days, week, month
c) has no filter possibilities (by source, media, geodata, ???)
d) is not compressable (only titles)/decompressable (full item view)
e) More???
I have event's that I would like to enter that don't have specific dates. Like in 1987 my organization had 400 members. It would be nice to be able to enter those events as "1987" or "May 1990." Maybe they would show up on the timeline as a shaded box extending from the beginning of the year/month to the end of the year/month? Or as the flag you have now with a pointed end on it?
i would like to subscribe to my gmail rss feed in dipity to help me review my daily workflow etc, it says their is a problem with the feed, is their or is this simply not possible? (it's a secure feed afterall)
I would suggest that you provide support for Unicode and RTL (right to left)languages, like Arabic. Currently, Dipity sometimes display Arabic text properly, but many times it appears garbled.
This would enable millions of Arab web users to create and browse Arabic timelines.
When I first started using Dipity I didn't realize that the first timeline I make is my personal timeline. I put some effort in building this timeline: http://www.dipity.com/user/takriti/ti..., but now it has 'personal' in the URL and that is undesirable. Can anything be done about it?
my timeline lists a fan in the dashboard, but when i pull it up it says there is not fan. so i made a test timeline that had no fan at first. its been a day or two and now there is 1 view (me) and 1 fan. is it counting the owner as a fan or is there some other bug here?
Will there be a way to backup my timeline? I don't expect your servers to fail, but it would feel better if it would be possible to have a backup of complex timelines.
When I use the "7day", or "1day" (actually it's any of the zoom presets) settings when embedding, Dipity always shows me the defaulted month view. Here's a copy of my settings:
