Recently active problems in Dipity tagged with dipity

I'm working on a timeline with a bunch of events in Japan. So far I've had two addresses that result in a "Location not found" error in Dipity but when I search for the address in Google Maps there is no problem. In one case it's a building name that the Dipity search doesn't recognize, and the other is an unusually long, complicated address. I can give you the specifics if you want, but the addresses are in Japanese, and they don't work quite the same way as US ones do.

How do I share my site with selected users? I tried to add a user (who happens to be me , via a different email address) and whenever I click on the links provided in the 'share' email, I get an error message saying that the topic can't be found. Any clues?

It seem Dipity import unpublished post in a wordpress blog (hosted on my own, not on wordpress.com). I read that this problem should have been solved, but I do see drafts, even those protected with a password (guess this is a an issue wordpress should see, too).

Like the title says, I'm not getting any updates in my friends timeline anymore...

On top of this, FireEagle updates (which happen every 10 minutes, iPhone automatically updates this) are not showing on my timeline. Only 1 update is visible, at about the same time I added this source.

Also, I noticed the time of this update isn't correct, although I have the right timezone in my account settings.

Sorry for all this negative input, I still like Dipity ;-)

Can I feed my private Picasa Web account into Dipity? Setting up a feed from Blogger allows you to enter a username and password. I don't like my web albums listed as public, but I would still like to feed them into Dipity. Am I missing something or are only public albums usable. If so, why not set up the same system you have with blogger?

I noticed that when getting information from a feed that the timestamp is not right. On my blog I have a entry for 7:40PM but dipity displays it as 12:40 AM the next day. I think that this is because feeds like wordpress automatically set the time to GMT +0:00 and dipity is reading that as a local time instead of universal. I know I can fix this in the wordpress php source code to not switch back to GMT +0:00 but what about apps like twitter of youtube, ones that I can't change the code. You should use a similar techniques as Google Reader, all of those entries are accurate. In the feed settings have the user select a time zone and set the time accordingly. This may help to prevent branding me as a night hawk.

Unfortunately I can't invite editors? The email was sent but nothing reached the recipient.

When I want to add an event and have filled out the relevant window, pressing the save button produces no action. I'm using Firefox 3.0.1 on Mac OS X 10.5.4.

I have created a timeline on Dipity called 'Trevithick Library', however when I browse timelines to search for it, I don't get any results.

Could you offer some suggestions as to why this might be happening?

my timeline lists a fan in the dashboard, but when i pull it up it says there is not fan. so i made a test timeline that had no fan at first. its been a day or two and now there is 1 view (me) and 1 fan. is it counting the owner as a fan or is there some other bug here?

I want to change the URL to my personal timeline. It includes my full name. Not cool. Can you make it my username instead?

When I use the "7day", or "1day" (actually it's any of the zoom presets) settings when embedding, Dipity always shows me the defaulted month view. Here's a copy of my settings:

The timeline on the bottom of the Flipbook view mode today did not allow me to click on the latest date. The latest date I could choose was April 30th.

Edit: It might have to do with the fact that the little orange triangel seems to collide with the vertical bar on April 30th. See it here:

My Timeline shows up in category 'regional' (btw. with '0 events') but is not found by search i.e. for Hamburg or Informationen which are words in the title.

Bugs: Nothing in my timeline feed after manually adding two events?

Nothing new in the hamburg.org 'section' although there are new items.

I reloaded my bookmarks from the feed from my Gregarius feed aggregator and voilá the d.i.u descriptions are available.

Changing the feed source for del.icio.us from original to FeedBurner didn't help. No descriptions!

Bug: Embedding a TimeTube timeline (Duffy article) doesn't use the script variables.

User icon is not changeable (Button not working).

Flickr photos in portrait mode take too much space. I would prefer the small square versions as an option.

Mode day view (i.e.) should compress the timeline as an option.

Where are Favicons?

I am wondering that there is no uproar about the bad event counting in Dipity. There are multiple timelines with content who are shown with '0 events' in search but have content.
