Why does Directv have a computer call me every month about my bill instead of a human?

Why does Directv have a computer call me every month about my bill instead of a human? I've never paid a bill late, and my $80+ a month should be able to pay for friendly staff... Computer calls are tacky and do not help build a relationship. Would you consider dumping this computer calling system that doesn't provide any useful or helpful info?
