Your tumblr help (@wiki) is outdated!
Hi there,
I just don't know how to get DISQUS running in my tumble-blog, both because I can't find anything in tumblr and second because I can't find anything on DISQUS! I authorized/linked tumblr (successfully), but I don't know where to get the HTML and where to put it.
And your TumblrHelp wiki isn't of any help, as sadly the content there seems to be outdated!
Please update the content and make access to the FAQ/help more prominent/easy!
Thanks in advance.

Inappropriate? The info at http://wiki.disqus.net/TumblrHelp under "Tumblr Integration" is up to date and works. Go to http://disqus.com/admin/tools/ , select "Tumblr" where it says "Generic code", click the "Reinstall" button, and follow the directions.
-
Inappropriate?catgofire, there is no "Admin" button/category/link, nor a "Tools" one in my interface. And if I use that link, there is no "Generic code" either!
So please provide me / fill up the wiki with some screenshot directions!
I clicked through all the possible links.
Thanks in advance.
I’m unsatisfied.

Inappropriate?Hmm very strange. Are you sure you added your site correctly? You can add it here: http://disqus.com/add/. Once you have successfully added your site, click the Admin tab at the top of the page, and if the dropdown box says All Websites change that to your Tumblr site.

Once your site is selected (in the example it is Circumlo.cutio.us), click the Tools tab, change Generic code to Tumblr, and click Reinstall.

You should now be at a page that looks like this... follow the instructions:

Hope that helps ... if you are unable to add your site (the first step), you should email help@disqus.com, because they don't seem to check here that often.

Hi catgofire, thanks so very much for the instructions! Although I didn't need them ;-) because it seems it was somehow an issue with the very first (add) link!! I clicked it and this time the proper site showed up, so I wasn't redirected anywhere I couldn't start the process! :) Thanks again! -
Inappropriate?Another question, I don't really get this facebook API key thing. Why is this so complicated? :( Do I really have to start/"build" an application? Then I'll better name it "DISQUS" huh? I mean I just inserted the public API key and then deleted the (test) application again, so this will still continue to work?
I’m confused and overwhelmed.
-
That's Facebook's deal not DISQUS's. -
You're of course right somehow. Still, we all want to use it, so my question just was if the key is enough / OK although I deleted the "application"? I mean why can't you use "fb Connect" or sth. like that, which makes it easier? This should be possible for DISQUS? -
My guess is that Facebook disables that API key if you delete the application. Why not just leave the application in sandbox mode? Then no one else can see it, but you can still use the API key. FB Connect requires a separate API key for each domain, anyway. In fact, the first step to setting up FB Connect is creating an application to get an API key :) There really is no way for DISQUS to make the Facebook process easier ... it's all under Facebook's control. -
Then we should "bug" facebook. If they'd be at least here. -.- Always the same with large companies... -
Facebook has an amazing support team ... they don't really have a need to be on getsatisfaction. But I don't think you should bug them about this issue. It's not that hard to create an application and leave it in sandbox mode. We should just be thankful that DISQUS and Facebook have together allowed us so much functionality and integration for free on the Internet. -
Check out your revamped Disqus profile. They make getting a Facebook API key really easy now ... you don't even have to go to Facebook.
