You mean other IDX providers than those who have had spiderable IDX solutions for years ;-)

It's funny, a couple of well exposed bloggers install a plugin and all of a sudden spiderable IDX is this new amazing thing. Gimme a break - Real Estate Webmasters has been offering spiderable IDX for nearly 6 years - talk about your coattail IDX providers.

I use REW's product as well... So maybe "one giant leap" wasn't completely accurate. But last I checked, REW didn't offer a spiderable solution for the Wordpress platform, so it's also not completely accurate to label Diverse a "coattail IDX provider".

And what about Listing Press? Diverse even ripped off their website design (poorly though) - did they not launch this very same thing last year? Sorry, diverse just runs around (much later) ripping off other vendors ideas and trying to make a big deal about them.

"Short codes" - you mean snippets? DSIDX"press" - Listing"press" - revolutionary / amazing - I don't think so.

I think you are talking about apples but we have oranges.

REW has been offering spiderable IDX for nearly 6 years
A full blown website is not the same as a plugin for WP. Agreed, REW has been offering high priced websites that has an integrated IDX for a few years now. dsIDXpress brings that same indexability to WordPress users at a fraction of the cost.

And what about Listing Press?
To my knowledge ListingsPress did attempt to do something similar about a year ago but got derailed with their project for some reason. While on the surface they may seem similar we have spent a great deal of time creating a different user experience and effective plugin. The product came out of consumer demand. They were asking for it so we gave it to them.

Diverse Solution rocks, regardless of who came out first, who had the idea is irrelevant!! It's who finishes the race first in my book! Diverse Solutions has a stellar record on producing what their clients want, delivering the goods and getting all their clients to the finish line!

The real 'gold' behind this product as in any out there is that it has a solid customer service base that walks the talk! When you deliver something good (after many of us have requested) and you have a goal to keep your customers happy and provide the best, it's a win/win. Really does it matter if it's original on the market or if it's solid with a solid team behind it?

That's like 1000's brokers/agents that all attempt to sell real estate, those that are consistent and focused on their clients best interest and make promises and over deliver are the ones that are going to stand out in the crowd!!

No, short codes are not like REW's snippets. I use both REW snippets and the short codes in dsIDXpress. Do you?

Oh come on. the "press" in both of those is obviously a tie in to WordPRESS. There's probably hundreds of Wordpress plugins that have some form of "press" in the name. It's not the name of ANY product, it's what it does.

You aren't comparing apples to apples when you compare REW's solution to dsIDXpress. Heck, you aren't even comparing the same food groups. They have completely different functionality, purpose and usage.

It's not the fact that IDX listings are "spiderable" that make this plugin so important.

It's the fact that "spiderable" IDX pages can be created on an open source cms platform!

It's the fact that it can be self-hosted!

The fact that it's non-proprietary!

The fact that it's "seriously" affordable!

Oh, and it looks good too!

I would prefer to never have to depend on someone else's platform. My self hosted Wordpress solution can compete with much larger and better funded organizations than I am and I have total control over it.

IDXpress rocks.

I used REW for website services with idx etc. Didn't get much traffic and every tweak I asked for, like adding an intregrated WP blog, was going to cost me a few hundred dollars. Ultimately it was too expensive and too limited. Now I'm in a pickle with Market Leader (PLEASE STAY AWAY). While I'm trying to cancel Market Leader service my plan is to start up a WP site using Estate from Woothemes and dsIDXpress. I'm stoked!
