I am trying to get shortcodes to work in a custom template file for my categories. I use the custom template file to style a community page and lookup community specific data and the presaved link_id (created in the Diverse Solutions Control Panel) in a separate table/database (any ETA of when will I be able to use the community name instead of a link id?)
Issue is that when I output the shortcode from PHP as e.g. [idx-listings linkid="67493" count="3"] on the top of the page(before the blog posts) it doesn't parse and just prints out as text.
Does dsIDXpress only parse the blog and page content? Any additional tag/style I need surrounding it to parse it outside of a blog or page area? Or, would I need to modify the dsIDXpress plugin to parse the whole page somehow (any pointers would be helpful.)

Only shortcode used in the blog posts and page content areas will parse with listing content. Shortcode used elsewhere WordPress never sends to our plugin>server to retrieve data.

I see - thank you for your answer.
Would I be able to include the dsIDXpress php file and call whatever function does the parsing manually from PHP somehow?
Or could I modify the dsIDXpress/Wordpress to get Wordpress to send the whole page for parsing after PHP spits it out? (would slow things)
Or is this something that just can't be done? -

I’m
sorry
Unfortunately, this is something that simply cannot be done with WordPress and our widget. -
