Possible to get local demo listings?
I called up about the iDXpress plugin and spoke to an agent about whether it was possible to get local demo listing. I am building a real estate website for my local market. I am not yet working with an agent, so I don't have access to an MLS account. I wanted to demo the iDXpress functionality as an added benefit, however I didn't want to use demo data from another locality as I have already gotten my site ranked for its main local keyword phrase. The upshot was that I was told that it was only possible to get demo data for Southern California. Perhaps this is a technical issue, however, your representative basically treated me as if I was trying to rip off your company (by getting free data) even though I was willing to sign up for a paid account just to get a few demo listings.

Hi Shambhu - Unfortunately this is a legal technicality and not a technical or we don't want to technicality. In order for us to provide real live data you must be a member of that MLS and have approval from the MLS for us to give that to you. If we gave live data to unauthorized individuals we run the risk of getting fined or worse having our data feed shut off by the MLS. That is why we provide a some fake/test/demo data that happens to be from the southern California region. That data should be enough for you to test out the functionality of the product.

Justin is 100% correct - I can also see how onerous it would be to create demo data for every locality.
What you could do is put excludes in the robots.txt file for all the IDX pages so that Google doesn't index those pages - otherwise you can do a removal request once it is activated with the right data. -
