Rentals appearing in IDX results problem

We have been getting a couple of requests for info on rental properties from our www.greyhawkcondosonline.com/blog website.

Here is an example link from the latest one:
http://www.greyhawkcondosonline.com/B...

We use dsIDXpress on the site with several links. However, they all have minimum price ranges for the properties of at least $150,000.

My question is, how is this link above being created? Where is it coming from? It doesn't seem to be from any of our IDXs that we created in the dsControlPanel. Wouldn't one of the three 'Rentals' property types have to be checked for a rental to even appear in the results?

Thanks

Dean

  • Currently, dsIDXpress generates a page for every available IDX listing. Regardless of the price range or type or cities you service, the property will have a page generated for it in your /idx directory.

Visitors will only be able to get to these pages if they come up in the results of the IDX Search widget or if you add links to cities or pages they may come up in.

We will be implementing an update (hopefully very soon) that will let you limit what properties are generated with the plugin (ie: no rentals or nothing in Beverly Hills or no condos, etc). In the meantime, just avoid letting users search for these and/or linking to these... but Google or other bots may still find the generated pages and index your site for them.

Sorry :( ...a fix is coming though.
