RSS feeds?
How 'bout making each generated list of search results include an RSS button so users can subscribe to that feed? I know I can create RSS feeds in dsSearchAgent, but those are not on my domain. Perhaps with dsIDXpress you could create RSS feeds on our domain?

the most important update we need is to capture info from the visitors to the site. I've noticed more visitors but very few leads.

That is the only reason I am reluctant to change my RSS searches in my widgets now because people can subscribe to them with one click, also when you scroll over the address more information is shown in the RSS than in the new widget..go to http://cheririleysblog.com to see what I mean.

re: "when you scroll over the address more information is shown in the RSS than in the new widget"
...where are you looking on Cheri Riley's blog for a comparison? When I hover over any of Cheri's widget-generated listings, I get a title like this:
"5075 Long Island Drive Nw, Atlanta, GA 30327 (MLS # 4033212)"
The RSS-feed-generated listings on her site have a title like this:
"$1,099,000 :: 111 Liberty Grove Pass, Alpharetta GA, 30004"
Is it the price that you were missing? -

Sorry guys I already went in and changed all my widgets from the RSS to the new IDXExpress..I liked the images and I'm testing to see if I get more clicks. I think the RSS on the blog posts and pages would be great and I still prefer a lot of things about the way the old RSS pulls through to a blog post. That I did leave up and will continue to do both to test. Pages are getting indexed and I am getting more visitors just from the two posts I already did.

Robert - I think what they are referring to is the sidebar and the plugin pulls in the description of that listing once you hover of the title on any given listing being pulled in from the feed. This is common with that plugin. I think the point that Cheri is making is that she likes the additional information and if you click on the title from the feed it will take you to the dsSearchAgent results page and provide the links for contacting the agent, emailing the agent.
I'm thinking a few in the forum are missing the point that the dsIDXPress allows your users to see all of the information on the data (MLS data) when using the widgets or shortcodes with no options of lead caption and when you have the dsSearchAgent you have the full blown product.
One enhances the other and I can't imagine why one would not want the entire package.
It would be nice to have the option to have the ability to do lead caption on the dsIDXpress and the use of a call to action (thinking that is in the future plans)!! -

I would not even considering NOT using the RSS feeds that you are creating and replace them with the widgets. I would definitely continue to use them and continue to create more. Use the two products together and allow the dsIDXpress to work as an enhancement to what you have already created!
The RSS feeds are 'GOLDEN' in my opinion and a great tool to have your pages crawled and help get pages indexed if you use them in the right way!!
The dsIDXpress again is an amazing tool to get 100's if not 1000's of pages indexed for your site!
I'm getting twice as much traffic to my site. Determining where your hits are coming from when a user registers or hits your site will tell you this. I hope everyone here is using Google Analytics to watch how dsIDXpress and dsSearchAgent is working for them!
Nice job on the blog! -

I agree abou the RSS feed from our own site rathern than the dssearchagent. dsidxpress should give us that option or allow the visitor to the feed if they don't want to visit the page daily.

I’m
sorry we do not have any concrete decision yet
Sorry guys, no update yet. RSS feeds are still via dsSearchAgent only... it's still up in the air whether these will be added to dsIDXpress at all - and if they are added - whether it will be an addition to the current version of dsIDXpress or part of an upgraded plugin product. -

I am trying to import rss feeds into a FACEBOOK fan page and I get the IDX feed but no pictures. Would like it to be form my site bt would settle for a thumbnail to show up... any thoughts on this

What RSS URL(s) are you using?
I went to your dsSearchAgent Control Panel and grabbed this RSS feed for your "Apple Valley Foreclosures"...
http://idx.diversesolutions.com/Feed/...
The feed above has an image for each listing (when available), like this image for the first listing:

Where are you getting your feed URL? -

Getting the feeds from DSidxpress control panel.
Pumping it to facebook, I seem to lose the photos:
http://www.facebook.com/ExcelsiorAndG...
If that link is not direct click the FOR SALE tab and the EXCELSIOR AND GRAND pulldown. -

Is there a way the structure of the feed could be altered to have the house PHOTO be used instead of the house icon image from MLS?

I can't tell why Facebook is pulling the MLS icon instead of the MLS photo, as this is not a system we support. This is something you would need to interface with Facebook about. Either case, using the RSS feeds to post listings anywhere (Facebook included) is a violation of display rules for many MLSes and is not something we can provide any troubleshooting for.
