I've just received an "Invitation to Dopplr x Monocle 'Where Next?' Event in London" via email. I live on the other side of the world in New Zealand, and I'm not going on any trips in the next two weeks. Dopplr should be fully aware of these facts via my account, so why was I sent this useless invitation?
I am planning a trip to India in October. I consider it one trip with multiple stops. However, Dopplr can only manage each stop as a related trip.
I would like my travel history to state that I am planing one trip with multiple destinations. Right now, it states that I am planing several trips i October, each of my stops in India being treated as a separate, but related trip.
Could you make an option where trips could grouped if necessary? Thanks
I would like to use dopplr with KOrganizer, KDE's calendaring application. It supports iCalendar format and a number of calendar-server protocols, like Exchange and GroupDAV.
Is this possible? I saw that it's possible to use it with apple's iCal via a web upload system - what is that, technically? Some form of WebDAV? I was hoping that it would be compatible with GroupDAV "somehow", but it doesn't seem to be the case. I have also heard about CalDAV... is that supported yet?
I'd like to be able to create an event on Dopplr that other people can say their attending, the way O'Reilly has done for their upcoming conferences (see http://radar.oreilly.com/2008/07/orei... ). Any chance that's a feature I could get access to or would be made available in the near future?
I think you feeds are behaving very strangly. It should be listed as a blog with the latest post first.
Look at this image, it lists my past trips with starting with the oldest first but then it added a trip I was going on that very day on the top?!? Very confusing.
This is the way it works now (or something similar I can't understand)
I have a travel from my hometown to Berlin with the next travel plan:
hometown - Mallorca by plane on thursday
Mallorca - Kolon by plane on friday
Kolon - Berlin by train on friday
Berlin - Frankfurt by train on sunday
Frankfurt - Mallorca by plane on monday
Mallorca - hometown by plane o tuesday
An what Dopplr understand is:
Travel to Mallorca round way, and the same to the other places :p
The travels should be 'from' 'to' and not 'destination' and 'returning', because I'm travelling to Frankfurt and I'm not 'returning", as long my travel continues.
I'd like Dopplr to add a "Coincidences" button on the first page of my profile, so I could have one-click access to view which travellers' journeys coincide with mine; I'd also like these displayed in an easy-to-view timeline, rather than text.
How the heck do you add a one way trip? I'm going to move my home city in the near future and therefore only have a oneway trip. How can I enter that in dopplr?
I've been planning out a 3-week trip at http://www.dopplr.com/traveller/david... , and the order of places is getting mixed up. (There's a combination of trains, planes and automobiles).
I don't think that hour-by-hour projections are necessary or productive, but it might be helpful to at least have an option to break down the day by morning, afternoon and evening. When I leave a hotel in one city in the morning, have a meeting in the afternoon, and then check into another hotel in the afternoon, this would at least cause the ordering of the stops on the profile to be correct. (I don't really want people to geolocate me, but I've already had associates note that I'm in town, and suggest we get together).
The system shows me as having NO trips, yet when I go to the FB app it says I have multiple trips planned. There is no way for me to view or edit my trips on your site; it tells me at the top that I am out of town; and if I view the map it does show three cities, but it still says I have no trips. This is a great concept, but this type of experience will have few people returning or actually using the site.
The Dopplr Facebook widget does not post to feeds and hasn't for 3 months. The application box on their profile is up-to-date; it's only the mini-feed which has stopped working. There's a thread on this on the Facebook app site, but no response from Dopplr
Please support open jaw trips. Let us create arbitrary multi-segment trips with undefined waypoints and waydates. This also lets us insert and edit arbitrary and ad-hoc trip segments. Sometimes we don't know in advance everywhere a trip can take us.
Is it possible to set a different hometown at a certain point in the past? For example, I've entered all my past trips 2004-2007 but to go back - which seems crazy I know but I am experimenting :-) - I need to mark that I lived in a different country altogether 1999-2003.
Please support nested trips in your schema. Sometimes the first and enclosing trip serves as a stage for another trip. Be smart and let trips launch yet more trips. Let the schema, calendar, and tools support such itineraries (and not close out all trips when the first one ends).
Can I have different transport options for trip? At the moment the choices are plane, train, automobile. I often travel by bus, or even ferry! It would help with the carbon calculation, non?
I messed up the dates when adding a few past trips. Is there any way to fix those? Logged in, I can't even find any of my past trips... Am I missing something, or is that just the way it is?
