Recently active problems in Dopplr

how can I mix a trip with airplane and car without getting back home?

The Dopplr Facebook widget does not post to feeds and hasn't for 3 months. The application box on their profile is up-to-date; it's only the mini-feed which has stopped working. There's a thread on this on the Facebook app site, but no response from Dopplr

I don't know about the rest of the world, but for Taiwan, where I live, Dopplr has a hard time recognizing any city outside of Taipei. I had an exchange with Dopplr developers about this during the beta phase, and I edited an online database as per Dopplr instructions, but numerous cities are still not listed. Considering that every other location-based service makes having a good database a priority, I'm surprised that this continues to be such a big problem with Dopplr.

I may be missing something, but I had an imported iCal trip last weekend that I can no longer find. My journal says, regarding this trip, "We imported a trip (since deleted) from an external calendar."

This seems like a problem, especially given your super awesome carbon calculator working on the basis of old trips. (I noticed this while trying out the calculator.)

Suggested behavior for trips imported from iCals: Once the trip starts, disconnect it from the iCal so that when it goes into the past and disappears from the iCal, it doesn't disappear from Dopplr.

I have a calendar import set up from Tripit, which works great, except . . .

Occasionally the trips that have been imported from my iCal get deleted and re-added. This only appears to happen when the link has not been broken by editing the trip in Dopplr. This started happening last Saturday and happened again this Saturday.

I didn't make any changes to my Tripit feed, though I suppose they could have reset something on there side.

This isn't exactly a problem for me, but I assume it also causes my trips to show up again in all of my contact's activity feeds. Not good :-(

I've contacted you several times through the Dopplr website 'feedback' link - about places I'd like added, technical problems, etc. Of about 10 messages, I've only ever had one reply. Even an automated response in future would be nice, just to know you're listening, because while I now know I can contact you on here anyone else who contacts you through the feedback link just feels like their message goes into a big black hole and gets ignored :-(

Two for now.

1. Ajax autofill of location is too slow and jerky leading to multiple attempts before getting the correct location.

2. Geonames accuracy is still not quite there. My home location of San Mateo, CA is not available as an option.

I love Dopplr, so I just wanted to point out a small issue. If someone ends up the dopplr.com/join page, but actually just needs to sign in, there isn't a nice friendly link to do that. Eventually they'd figure out to click on the logo and do it from the home page, but it's nice to have the suggestion as a link. Occasionally people forget that they've already signed up for a service.

It's a pain to have to leave the journal to do the obvious: adding a note, for example, after uploading pictures to Flickr, I might want to add a note.

Presumably because of the feed password protection. I realize this is more Google's problem than yours, but it still sucks.
