Dopplr should have a carbon rating for all of my travels

I saw this before, seems to have been put on the back burner. I really love this concept. You could do some really cool stuff with creating goals to lower total carbon in your network.

I think it's pretty cool that American Institute of Graphic Arts has taken an active role in educating and providing tools about carbon offset for its membership. AIGA offset its entire national convention last week, including the travel of attendees and staff. It has also kicked off a new program that educates designers on carbon offsets for their studios.

Great idea! Sounds like a feature that could make Dopplr a "green software" product to me!

Seeing how much you're burning up the planet won't help. Just cut your flying. It's quite a simple concept, not needing any design, development or coding time

One thing though, not all trips are taken by plane. For instance I travel a lot on the train (which on the whole is a little bit greener). Good idea though.
