One trip, multiple stops
I am planning a trip to India in October. I consider it one trip with multiple stops. However, Dopplr can only manage each stop as a related trip.
I would like my travel history to state that I am planing one trip with multiple destinations. Right now, it states that I am planing several trips i October, each of my stops in India being treated as a separate, but related trip.
Could you make an option where trips could grouped if necessary? Thanks

Hi Mzungu
You're right that at the moment we do show multiple stops as 'related trips' rather than one trip to multiple places. However we are considering changing this, alongside a few other important multi-stop trip improvements (e.g. better editing of multi-stop trips).
Thanks

Mzungu, when you add trips you can use the multiple-stop form. In the add-a-trip form, there's a link that says "Add another stop on this trip" -- click that (as many times as you need) and you're all set. See this:

Or are you trying to do something else?

Hi Dan,
I share the same challenge: 3 weeks in the U.S. and 6 destinations all but one business
In my view I cannot see this link "Add another stop on this trip" -
OK, so I was using too old version of IE (provided by my company). With Mozilla I am all set! Thanks -

That would be cool and make so much more sense. -
Please do change it! It would make a lot more sense. -
Inappropriate?Mzungu, apologies -- I misunderstood your question. Celia's response cover the current situation.

Inappropriate?Celia,
Please see this link too. I am encountering a similar problem when importing a trip in from TripIt.
I have a trip tomorrow going from SFO to Taipei with a plane change in Tokyo. However, it is showing me as going to Tokyo which is inaccurate. -
Hi Jauder - That sounds like a bug. I'm going to file a report so that the development team can take a closer look at it. Thanks for letting us know.

Inappropriate? How can you add multiple stops to an existing trip? I see the answers here related to the "new trips" flow but not how to edit an existing trip.

Inappropriate?Hi John
There's no way to do that just yet but we know it's needed and are hoping on including it soon. -
Inappropriate? How about one trip, multiple stops but I don't consider the first stop (layover) as the primary destination. I am hoping I will be able to change the primary destination to the city I want in the multi-stop trip.
Is there already some way to do this?
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?Well, that would not be accurate then. I had a trip a while back that was a month long and 5 different countries so I would not considered that to be a single trip.
Actually to save money, I bought 2 tickets, 1 roundtrip from SFO to Toyko and then a ticket that let me fly around Asia. Worked out nicely. But that would be an impossible trip to plot given Dopplr's current setup.
I’m sad
-
Inappropriate?I guess what this problem all boils down to is what is displayed as "trips" and the concept of "trip" vs. "destination". Dopplr considers any departure (and any included destinations) from the home city to be a single trip with the destination as the first stop.
What bugs me is that I have many stops (layovers) but I only consider one to be the main trip destination (with maybe a secondary long lay-over destination) and the first stop is the only label for the entire trip.
I'm guessing what you wanted was each of your stops to show up as individual destinations or trips. Or else, the ability to control the list to reflect where you believe you went and didnt go.
I’m frustrated
