Our recent billing snafu.
I know a lot of folks have to be more than a bit steamed at our recent billing issue. If you want to talk it out or get any clarifications on what's going on, you've got my ear.

Inappropriate?I got the email last night and thought -- uh oh, software error. I read your blog post today and I thought -- I can imagine doing something like that -- there but for the grace of [name your favorite deity] go I.
Thanks for your openness. I hope that you get through this ok.
An occasionally aggravated but mostly happy dreamhost customer.

I’m understanding

Inappropriate?Jason, I've been a Dreamhost customer since 2004 and have set up or managed over thirty sites that have lived on Dreamhost during that time.
The billing email(s)--I received multiple as I'm still the technical contact for many sites--actually made me think you'd been hacked.
So the payment snafu is a lesser snafu than what I first thought, and I have to say that I have been exceedingly happy with the service over the years.
I think I'd have been more concerned if the later explanatory email hadn't been funny and full of pop culture references--that's been the Dreamhost tone all the way...
I’m glad my still-favorite web hosting company of choice wasn't hacked.

Inappropriate?@Jason
I'm relatively new to dreamhost and have been very satisfied with the service thus far.
I've read many nasty blog posts about this billing snafu and really find it surprising how unaccepting people can be. A mistake was made and you guys were on top of it (I had my refund within 2 days.)
Hope you guys aren't too down on this.

I’m still on board

Inappropriate?I remember when it happened. Didn't care then, still don't. I can't believe people got upset over receiving a bill they didn't need to pay. Now, downtime on the other hand ... :p
I’m indifferent

Inappropriate?I have a question Jason... Why can't I get anyone to call me about a refund for service that I have not used and do not want. I understand if your company prefers not have call in support but that should be in HUGE letters on your home page. All I want is to get my money back but since I paid with PayPal I am up a creek? Can you help me at all. Even just a number to call somebody. I did a WhoIs lookup and called a number that says it's DreamHost. I left a message but feel like I will never hear from anyone again.
I’m frustrated
