Completely branded custom drop?
I am starting a new business where I will need to have about 20-50 drops for various clients. I was going to hire a programmer to make me a system to run on my own server, but your system is so nice and sexy I want to use it. My question is do you have plans or can you already have a customized drop, with my logo and branding on it and looking like it is from my domain name? I don't mind it having your info but it would look more professional looking like it is coming from my site. Do you have a higher paying plan for something like this? I know I will end up using you all but this option would make me love you. Pretty much I want the drop and domain name to look like my company. I love you guys and I wish you well, I have told everyone I know about you.. If you have noticed a spike in the Nashville area it is because of me ;-) thanks guys

Inappropriate?Ben - I had lengthy exchanges with Drop.io management about this topic as well. After a while I came to the conclusion that it may be better to give full credit to Drop.io and acknowledge them as providing key components of a value-add infrastructure. These days is sort of in-vogue to associate one brand with another, which is why so many sites have API links to Twitter or Facebook, or Google widgets and other such plugins. That's the nature of mashups.
I have no idea who you are, what your main product or model is, or what your goals are, so I hope none of this offends you.
If you intend to provide the exact same services as Drop.io, with no value add, then your clients don't have a lot to gain from coming to you versus going direct. If that's the case you're going to have a hard time with the whole venture. If you want to sell voice mail services (without the branded "welcome to Drop.io" message") or provide a way for people to share files that they email to a host (not @drop.io), then you should probably look elsewhere.
However, if you do provide unique value-add and the Drop.io services are merely a part of what your clients/visitors get when they come to your site, then I don't think you have to worry about people wanting to cut out the middleman or go directly to the source.
So my advice is to consider embracing the brand, and figure out a way to make people feel good about coming to your site to make use of Drop.io services. Provide some way to make use of the files and transport tools that compel people to come to your site - and if they go direct to Drop.io, many/most will realize that they simply can't get there what you offer. If people do go direct and find what they want, let them go. Competing with free and low-cost services is tough enough as it is. It's even more difficult to try to make a profit in the process. -
Inappropriate?I dont mind at all have drop.ios branding on it. I was just wondering if they ever were going to do this. I would love for it to have all my branding with a tag line that said "powered by drop.io" or something like that. The service I offer will be unique but some clients could potentially get to a point where they make their own drop and bypass me. That is my only fear. I spend the time setting them up and teaching them how to use it and then they leave me for a free drop. I understand business very well and that is why I was asking if there was a higher pricing model for this sort of thing. All in all I don't mind drop.io branding at all and will start with the route I just thought it would be soo cool for me to have it look like my site with a powered by drop.io tag on it.

Inappropriate?Hey Ben (and thanks for the input as always Starbuck),
This is a really good question.
You absolutely can have a customized and branded experience on drop.io. You can change the layout, functionality, colors, add your corporate logo/background, etc.
With drop.io Manager, you get to control all of your company's drops from a single, centralized interface by which you can administer not only things like their capacity/name/features but also their aesthetics as well.
You can get all the info about this here.
Additionally, if your interested in a white label option, you can give inquiries@dropio.com a shout and they will give you all the details.
I hope this helps.
Best,
Peter F.
