I can't drag and drop into existing drops using firefox extension
Hi, I am unable to drag and drop a file into an existing drop. I am logged into the drop and when I drag a file onto the page (media/blog view), nothing happens and the red circle doesn't change shape or move or anything (I am, however, able to drag a file to simultaneously create a new drop).
How about being able to add files to an existing drop by dragging the file to that drop's entry in the pop-up (one one that appears when clicking on the red circle) raher than having to pen up the drop and so on?
Thanks

Inappropriate?Hi Noel,
I had a similar problem when I tried dragging a file attachment from an email I had received directly into the drop page in my Firefox browser. However, when I dragged the same file from the File Explorer, the Firefox extension worked correctly, and added the file to the drop.
Perhaps this is an issue with where the file is coming from?
Best,
cimm.

Inappropriate? The first time I dragged the file from my Desktop to the red circle and the page itself, the second time I dragged a file from Windows Explorer to the red circle and the page; It didn't work either time. Hmmm...
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?Noel,
If a user is visiting a drop as a guest and that drop does not allow guests to add files, the drag and drop feature won't work.
Since dragging and dropping files onto the red circle creates a new drop that by default a user is visiting for the first time and thus have admin privileges and the ability to add files, it will work.
Can you take a look at those drops and see if the permissions are set up to allow guests to add?
If that doesn't fix it, let us know and we'll get cracking to see what's going wrong.
Best,
Peter F.

Inappropriate?Hi Peter,
These aren't drops where I have guest privileges; These are drops that I have set up myself and for which I have the admin password.
I would like to be able to do the folowing:
(First of all, I'm not signed into any drop at all)
I drag a file to the circle, the pop-up appears immediately,
I drop the file onto the name of existing drop I want to upload the file to,
I get some sort of login screen whereupon I enter my admin/guest password,
Ka-ching. . . the circle starts throbbing, I get the 1/1 text and once that's done, I know that my file has been uploaded - no need to go to my drop, log in as admin, then drag a file to the circle/throbber.
I don't want to have Guest permissions set up so that guests can add files.
As it is, having a list of existing drops upon clicking the circle makes it nothing other than a list bookmarks for the drops - and I can create bookmarks by clicking CTRL+D in FF anyway - and in a more accessible location (the bookmarks toolbar) than the status bar to boot.
Maybe I've misunderstood something, I don't know.
I’m undecided
