Uploads to my drop don't complete
I'm having a problem uploading some files to drops. I can upload a whole folder of document files without any problems. But I tried uploading some exe files that were several megs each, and the first will get between 97-99% and seems to just stall. Tonight the same thing happened trying to upload an mp3. I'm running Firefox 3.5.5 on an XP machine. I have the firefox drop.io extension 2.x installed. But I encounter this problem whether I'm using the html uploader, the "regular" uploader, or dragging the file to an open drop in the browser. I don't see anyone else complaining about uploads not completing, so I'm thinking it's something on my end, but have no idea what.

Inappropriate?I have the same issue as well with .WMV files.. Some load, others do not. I am incredibly frustrated about the whole thing. I am surprised that you have not received an answer yet.

Inappropriate?Hi Mike,
We're on this. Will hopefully have a fix very soon.
Steve/Alvin,
I think you might be having the issue that is described here. We're working right now to fix it.
Best,
Peter F.

Inappropriate? My issue is different than the one at the link. My uploads aren't completing. The post on your link describes files not converting after upload. I have had that issue too, with things as simple as small pdf files not converting, but my complaint in this thread is with a inability to upload.

Inappropriate?Hey Mike,
Yes, I completely understand. They're two separate problems that we're handling right now.

Inappropriate?I had the same problem uploading a 700 MB file using AT&T's DSL which only suppports 510kbps upload (or about 2MB/minute). The problem is drop.io's default "web app" shows the whole file uploads in about 40 seconds, which is impossible -- it should take 6 hours! My router performance counter showed that indeed only 1MB was transmitted, with no errors reported.
I switched to the html upload tool and monitored network performance with Task Manager and it seems to be working now. But there is absolutely no indication on the drop.io html uploader web page that anything is happening. Hopefully this gives some insight into your problem.

Inappropriate?Same issue here, completely unable to upload. Comcast high speed internet, Firefox 3.5.3, using the flash uploader or the add-on. Files get to 99% and the whole thing hangs. I just left and upload of a 57KB jpeg image going for 35 minutes and nothing happened. Drop is empty.
I'm wondering if this is a temporary issue, as I've uploaded files in the past with no problem. Hope it gets fixed soon; I recommended drop.io to a client for their business and now I can't use it at all... -
Inappropriate?Yeah. I love the sercice - I even pay for it - but drop.io is essentially useless if you can't, you know, upload to it :)

Inappropriate? My problem is similar to Steve and Haus, just above. Trying to upload a decent-size PDF (60 MB). Browser shows rapid progress, up to 99% or 100%, but then seems to stall. "Upload" button says "Uploading..." but ZoneAlarm shows no activity. Appears to be waiting for a response from "assets.drop.io" Using WinXP and FF3 (also tried with Chrome 3 and IE7). Has worked successfully in the recent past.

Inappropriate?Just yesterday I was using the uploader .swf which I have as a link on my site for clients to drop me files. Out of 8 files it looks like we got 6. To re-upload the last 2 we had to refresh the browser (IE7) a couple times. We didn't see the uploaded files at first. After we saw them, we couldn't download one of them because the context menu on the drop.io page showed all options except download. I renamed the file through the drop, and it showed the download link. Of course since that has nothing to do with the actual file name (long-term issue) when we did download it came down with the original filename (which was fine, just weird).
It's unfortunate that I experienced all of these issues while trying to show one of my colleagues/contractors how useful Drop.io is.
I’m pretty tired of reporting basic issues
