Why won't EBAY close my account if they won't let me buy or sell anymore?
I was indefinitely suspended from EBAY due to a serious dispute with a seller. EBAY says they will not reinstate me. I asked them to remove me from their system so that my name/username no longer appears. It's been a year or so now. What is the point of an indefinite suspension WITH my name still showing up? I can't rectify any damage so why continue to advertise me as a suspended user? To make matters worse, they still send me mail asking me to update my credit card and other nonsense notifications. Is there a live person I can talk to there?

Inappropriate?Your account does not close so they can ban you and your household from ebay. If they permanently closed your account you would be able to re-register with a different email address.
Can I later reopen my account?
No, you can’t reopen your account with the same user ID or email address, but you can create a new account.
If you change your mind about closing your account during the waiting period, contact us to cancel your account closure.

Inappropriate? Here's why. eBay just sucks. They don't want to let go of you because they are searching for a way to link you to some old account that someone else opened that has a negative balance with paypal (who also just sucks). Here is my recent experience.
2 Months ago joined.
Bought 3 or 4 things.
Paid fast, got positive feedback.
Started to sell. My first 5 auctions were won by non-paying bidders.
My next two were won and paid for. Each of these guys won an Apple computer. Neither of them knew how to use one. I spend a minimum of 72 hours on the phone as a "self help" tutor because neither of them would leave feedback until they were completely happy with their purchase. I had no choice.
My next auction was won and paid for. When I went to print a shipping label, I found that my eBay account was suspended. PayPal had limited access to MY MONEY. They claimed that my name was linked to a 5 year old account that owed $600. After another 5 hours on the phone, they asked me to fill out forms, submit supplier information, show proof of delivery for the items that I shipped. Its been 8 days since I submitted the documents. They have not gotten to them yet.
The last transaction was an iPhone that I purchased. It arrived. It was fake.

take a look.
So, in short, you are actually fortunate to not have an eBay account. The entire business model is overly prepared to accuse and convict cyber-criminals. If you are not one, ask eBay or Pay Pal. They'll tell you if you are.
They just suck.
I’m beside myself with confustion

Inappropriate?@julie wood Things started getting really bad on Evilbay when they changed the feedback system and made it so sellers CANNOT advertise the fact that they accept other means of payment other than Pay(NotMy)Pal
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?Building a business on eBay and PayPal is like building a mansion on sand.
Don't expect anything good unless you are as big as buy.com or sears.com. Just two of eBay's biggest customers.
I’m angry at corporate America
