Can I sue if my site is wrongly taken down?
I've heard something about a section of the DMCA that might allow that.

Inappropriate? You can sue if there is fraud or perjory involved in the DMCA Notification submitted by the supposed copyright holder. This Notification is a legal document that makes the copyright claim and formally demands a takedown of the material.
The EFF vs. Michael Crook case was a landmark event in demonstrating how abuse of the DMCA was a punishable offense. EFF rocked this one big time.
I’m thankful

Inappropriate? Thanks! Yes, you can sue if someone uses fraud or materially misleading information under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act to take down anything you publish online. The exact section is Title 17, Section 512(f).
Another important case EFF took to help establish this way to fight back against illegal takedowns was OPG v. Diebold.
I’m happy
