Minnesota Data wrong I am very disapponted. This app has potential to be good but data must be correct. Right now Wisconsin is listed as having nothing in season, but the state next door is listed as having a bunch of produce in season. I can assure you nothing is season. Moreover it lists things like Raspberries as being in season year around. Have you been to MN in January? Nothing grows when it is negative thirty degrees with two feet of snow, certainly not raspberries. Please fix Minnesota or give me my money back.
Minnesota data wrong. Nothing is in season here. You can't grow raspberries year round if you get sub zero temps and snow for several months.

Thank you for reporting this. I got my information from this website:
http://www.nrdc.org/health/foodmiles/...
Which lists this site as its source:

Though it's not mentioned on this site, sometimes these foods are considered "in season" even if they are stored or grown in hot houses. It's the same way with Apples here in Seattle, though they don't grow all year round, they're stored locally and available at markets year round.
I will gladly refund your money... just send me your address or your Paypal email address. I will look into your state and try to find more accurate information if this site proves to be a little too lenient in terms of what's really in season.
I’m hopeful

Inappropriate? This is definitely a problem. I just purchased and I am also very disappointed with the Minnesota data. There are lots of errors but two very glaring ones are berries that do not store well. I do not consider Raspberries to be in season year round or Strawberries to be in season now and for the next 5.5 months. I am not aware of any local farms that grow these in hot houses. Herbs and tomatoes are. Maybe not as comprehensive as you need but check out: http://www.mda.state.mn.us/news/publi...

Thank you, Cindy. If you would like to receive a refund, send me an email with your paypal address or a mailing address to locavore [at] enjoymentland [dot] com. In the meantime, I will make sure that the data for Minnesota is updated in the next release. Sorry for the inconvenience! -
Inappropriate?I'd rather have the problem fixed than get my money back as I think this has the potential to be good application. I don't consider Hot house foods to be "in-season". For starters, they don't taste as good as in season. Trust me, I just bought hot-house tomatoes this weekend. It's not like picking them up from the farmer's market. The additional resources burden of hot house veggies also makes me want to wait until things come back in season. And I agree with Cindy above - there are no berries, or many other items listed as hot house readily available here. Pretty much herbs, salad greens & tomatoes.
There's LOTS of locavores in the Twin Cities who would love an up to date app. Best of luck -
Thanks to the link Cindy gave, I'll be able to update Minnesota with more accurate data in the next update. I'll let you both know as soon as that is available. -
Inappropriate?Great thanks - I look forward to the next update. - Cindy

Inappropriate? My problem with the Minnesota info is the "Location Finder"...it is showing me farmer's markets that are 45 miles away as only 1.5 miles close to me. And those that are closer to me, as even further away.

Inappropriate?Same problem with produce "in season" here in MN. Looking forward to the next update! Any idea when that will be released?
I don't see a reply to ocd - I'm wondering if his/her problem with the location finder is where ocd lives within the zip code area. My guess is that the market is by zip code and is in reference to the dead center of the zip code area. If it's a big area and you live on the edge of it, a market could easily show as up 1.5 miles away when in reality it's much further from your current location.
