.DS_Store problems
Is there any way to the Finder from playing with .DS_Store files on Expandrive-mounted partitions? Can we at least teach Expandrive not to try copying those files to such drives?

Inappropriate?I'm not sure what's going on; ExpanDrive already does this. Are you sure the .DS_Store file weren't present already, before ExpanDrive touched the server?

Inappropriate? If I drag entire directories from my (Mac) hard drive over to the remote (linux) drive, the copy will frequently fail because it can't copy .DS_Store. I've completely deleted the linux directory (and its parent directory) several times---the only place these files are coming from is Expandrive, and still something is going screwy with the .DS_Store files.
(I'd much rather yell at Apple's Finder to actually make use of their "extended attributes" system instead of cluttering up the filesystem, but I guess we've got to live with the behavior for now.)
Incidentally, I haven't check whether Expandrive copies extended attributes...verdict? -
Inappropriate?Expandrive copied .DS_Store for me as well recently - I had a fresh folder on a server that I only touched with expandrive and when i attempted to copy over some subfolders it told me there was already a .DS_Store blah blah and stopped copying. Ended up deleting the directory and renaming another.
Maybe this .DS_Store ignore got broken in the last update, I dont' remember it happening before.
I’m sad

Inappropriate?This is still a problem.
I have view invisibles turned on in my Finder.
Dragging over a list of files that has .DS_Store included will fail.
It's notably failing where there already exists a .DS_Store file on the mounted server (not sure why that ever successfully dragged over).
The error prevents me from dragging large lists of files over easily.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?this might come handy:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1629
(prevent .DS_Store file creation over network connections) -
Inappropriate?very nice, if it still works the same in Leopard that would solve the issue!
I’m confident

Disabling .DS_Store creation might work around the problem in some cases (at a price), but the underlying problem with ExpanDrive would still be there. -
what would the price be if it only disables the creation of them over network connections? I can't think of a case where I would need that, though perhaps people transferring files over a home network or something would find it useful.
