Difficulties with this "forum"
This forum is extremely hard to follow ... is it just me or do other feel this way? They seem to have tried to re-invent the wheel, but from where I am looking the wheel is not quite round :/
Just wanted to see if anyone else feels the same way as I do .. maybe I'm a bit oldschool, but they really missed the mark on this web software :/

Inappropriate? It's certainly different, but what part of it is hard to follow? We'd love any input you have

Inappropriate?I with Jeff. I was skeptical at first, but now I think it's better than a forum on a lot of levels. It's faster and cleaner than our self-hosted forum was. It's maintenance free, which leaves us with more time to make awesome software. And it's only one account / sign in, which you can use with any company that does support on getsatisfaction. I'm always looking to cut down on superfluous accounts.
I’m excited

Inappropriate?I can see how it is easier for you guys, just airing my issues with it here. The thing I have a hard time with is that there's no single page where I can see what's going on ... click click click click ... still haven't seen what's happening with threads. Lots of scrolling, can only see a few threads per page. I guess I'm just oldschool and prefer a more static forum layout that gives you chronological order of posts, etc. This one just feels like it's all over the place. Too many clicks and page downs just to get an overview of what's happening.
This is nothing you guys can solve, it's just a pretty strange/HUGE design on the part of getsatisfaction.
P.S. for example I didn't even get any kind of notification that anyone had even posted replies to me (and I was "following" it).
I’m indifferent

Inappropriate?I think it's quite ok, but it has a lot of design flaws,.. if you would remove the entire right column on this site, and make an options tag somewhere near the first post it would be so much better.

I agree.
After using this forum a little bit over the past few weeks I'd say the biggest drawback to GetSatisfaction compared to the old forum software is not being able to get a simple list of the recent topics that had activity in a one line for each topic format.
I made similar comments on the welcome thread when the GetSatisfaction thing started. I just had a hell of a time figuring out how to find the thread...

Is there even a way to search for the posts that I made? Using what appears to be the search widget at the top of the page, searching for either "mwb1100" or "GetSatisfaction" did not find the thread. If there's another search tool, I can't find it. Now I might have to change my avatar to the frowny-face. -
Inappropriate?I agree - we're talking to Satisfaction about making this better
6 posts/page is a pain in the ass.
Thanks for the feedback. -
Inappropriate? We got them to switch it to 20 posts/page!
-
Inappropriate?Agreeing with the remarks about some design confusion, but I think the idea of one centralized space for different support correspondences is a nice one.
I’m for it
-
Inappropriate? It definitely seems like it is getting better regularly
