Drive not showing up in finder, not connecting/disconnecting properly
ExpanDrive seems to connect (dot turns green) but doesn't show up in finder under devices, although it does show up in Volumes. When I view it in finder it doesn't have any of the contents of the folder. When I try to disconnect, it does nothing, the dot stays green.
I'm trying to connect to my server as the root user.
Any ideas?

Inappropriate? Also, it seems like each time I connect it's creating a new drive in Macintosh HD/Volumes - so I now have Folder, Folder 1, Folder 2...
-
Does this to me also- volume is empty -
Inappropriate?Hi, Andrew,
One of the limitations built-in to MacFUSE is that only the user who connected a drive may access the files on that drive. So, if you have mounted an ExpanDrive volume using your regular ID, but then try to access the files as root, you would get behaviour like what you're describing.
If that doesn't describe what is happening for you, please feel free to drop us a note at <support@expandrive.com> and let us know a bit more about your setup -- are you using SFTP or FTP? What version of ExpanDrive are you using? We'll do our best to help you out. -
Inappropriate?I should have specified, I'm trying to connect to the server as the root user on the server; I connected the drive and am trying to use it with the same user on this computer.
I'm trying to use SFTP, I have cyberduck already installed. -
Inappropriate?Oh, also using the most recent version of ExpanDrive, downloaded it today
-
Inappropriate? If you connect to the same server using the command-line "sftp" program in Terminal, and run the "ls" command, do you get a listing of files?
For example:
% sftp root@your.server.name:/your/remote/path
Connecting to your.server.name...
Password:*********
sftp> ls
-
Inappropriate?I get one line,
XXXX.sql XXXX.sql XXXX.sql XXXX.sql vhosts -
Inappropriate? My server admin (who has a working expandrive setup) said that that's what he receives as well, most everything is inside vhosts.
-
Inappropriate?Okay. So, just to be clear, are you not seeing those same files listed in the ExpanDrive listing? Or, is it that you do see those files, and were expecting something else?
-
Inappropriate?I'm actually not seeing anything in the drive - when I click on the file in finder (Macintosh HD/Volumes/[ExpanDriveFolder] it says zero files and displays empty
-
Inappropriate?Interesting. Well, obviously something odd's going on there. Is there any chance you could let us have a temporary testing account on the server you're having this trouble with, so that we could log in and give it a try? If that's a possibility, please drop me an e-mail at <support@expandrive.com>, since I think that would be the easiest way to figure out what's wrong.

Inappropriate? We may have found a bug in MacFUSE - when I took the word "union" out of the drive name, it worked...
-
Inappropriate? We spent quite a while looking into the 'union' bug, but weren’t able to make much headway with it. We’ve reported the bug to the MacFUSE mailing list, and we’ll post an update here when we know more. Until then, I guess you can’t use the word 'union' in your drives.

I’m amused

This doesn't solve my problem as I have never used *union* in a drive name. IIS 6 server from me mounts empty volumes.
