ExpanDrive randomly corrupts/destroys files.
ExpanDrive randomly corrupts/destroys files, even small plaintext ones, when loosing connections: In TextMate, a password/authentication window pops up although I have write permissions on the remote FS, and that is it: Restore from Subversion, re-apply changes. Regular Terminal/SSH-connections survive without a problem, so network issues can be ruled out. I am using a Leopard (10.5.5) client and Debian Etch servers.

We're REAL sorry you're having issues with corruption. Any sort of data corruption is completely unacceptable.
Do you have any way you can force this to happen in a replicable way? Also, can you verify which version of ExpanDrive you're running?

Inappropriate?Jeff,
you're welcome -- I hope this issue can be fixed soon, as ED does scratch an itch here. Unfortunately, i was unable to see a pattern so far, or to replicate the failure. FWIW, I think I always used ED with TextMate (currently v1.5.8) when the problem occurred -- but then, I almost exclusively use TM for work.
Until today, I used ED 1.3.0, which made matters worse than the previous version. 1.3.2 seems a little more stable -- lost only one connection today, without breaking anything. Meanwhile, 'top' kept running in a Terminal window connected to the very same remote machine...

Inappropriate?i have having problems with file corruption, too --- in bbedit, not text mate, but the issue sounds similar.
files are sometimes corrupted *as* i am working on them --- and sometimes while i've been away.
in each case, the file is truncated, usually a bit more than halfway down the file, it seems.
.bak files are being created, and those files seem to be OK --- but it's been weird and scary.
none of this happened before i started using expandrive.
I’m frustrated and scared.

Chis - very sorry about this. Are you using FTP/SFTP? Do you have a replicable scenario? What version of ExpanDrive are you using - and can you email support@expandrive.com asap?
