Files vanish from S3 one second after uploading
When I upload files to S3 using ExpanDrive, I find that they show for maybe one second, then vanish. Doing an ls -a in terminal shows there's nothing there.
Does that ring any bells for anyone?

Inappropriate?Same thing here. I can create folders from an ExpanDrive mounted S3 bucket, but uploading files results in no files being found as well.
-
Inappropriate?I've got this for certain files on S3 also.
-
Inappropriate? This happens to me also. Here's some additional details:
* If I add an S3 drive with no bucket path specified, I can't create new buckets, or write into existing buckets.
* If I add an S3 drive *with* a bucket path specified, I can upload files, but then they disappear one second after the upload is finished. (They momentarily appear in the finder, but then disappear.)
* This seems to be a Finder issue; if I create a text file from within Terminal "touch this.txt", the file does then appear in the Finder, and I can modify it successfully (with something like BBEdit). -
Inappropriate?Furthermore, here's what Chronosync reports when trying to sync a folder to this S3 drive:
http://www.makalumedia.com/skitch/Unt... -
Inappropriate?Running Chronosync to sync a folder full of PDFs had disastrous results:
* Chronosync reported that all went well.
* In the Finder, some PDFs had Preview icons, while others had Acrobat icons.
* Some files were reported as zero KB in size, while others reported their correct size (again, in the Finder)
* None of the files would open. I don't recall the error codes that Skim reported (it reported that some files couldn't be found.)
So, conclusion: The S3 functionality seems to be broken, at least on my system. -
Inappropriate?Matt we'll be looking at this today/tomorrow. Haven't tested out chronosync recently
-
Inappropriate?I would not chalk this up to a problem with ChronoSync + ExpanDrive. I get similar results with SuperDuper!, TextMate, and just plain ole drag and dropping.
-
Inappropriate?Tres and matt - can you guys both ping support@expandrive.com [if you haven't already]
I think we need to do a little one on one work, and it gets super crazy with Get Satisfaction [not the best forum ever]
Also, anyone else with a similar issue, also please email us [and reference this thread if you wouldn't mind] -
Inappropriate?I am having this same issue. Mount my S3 and open a bucket. If I transfer a file (usually between 30 and 150 megs) it completes after stalling at the very end for some time. Then the Finder dings complete the file appears in the file list then is gone with no trace.

can you email support@expandrive.com, pelted thanks! -
Inappropriate?after emailing and getting one response back yesterday there is still no word on what is going on. It would be great to get an update.
You know ED has been a great tool over the last several months I have used it. That definitely has earned some slack. But.... 2.0 seems loaded with issues and S3 support seems like it was tacked on by the marketing guy just to get everyone to pony up another $20 for an update. SSH transfers are noticeably slower and more prone to stalling now too. This is overall very disappointing. -
Inappropriate? Thanks guys - we can replicate this now, a fix is in progress.

Good news, Jeff! Would love to hear more details. Is it a ExpanDrive thing, or a MacFuse thing? -
Unclear, at the moment. I think an ExpanDrive thing. -
That's potentially more good news, then! :) Good luck, and let me know if you need anything. -
