How do I set file permissions using SftpDrive?
I am new to SSH servers and also to SftpDrive. I need to know how to set the file permissions for some of the files I have copied to the root directory. I tried asking the question, but I did not understand the answers - too technical for me, and I don't know what Finder is.
Thanks so much for your help!

Inappropriate? There isn't a way to explicitly set permissions using our client - unfortunately that's something you'll have to do manually on the server.

Inappropriate? Is this something you are working on?
The problem I am having with it is that when I save files with the execute bit (x) using editors via sftpdrive they lose the (x). For example I open a file with 755 permissions, and then save it it ends up with 644 permissions. This means I have to browse ever file and do a chmod back on these files. A real annoyance for an otherwise excellent program.
BTW, I am a paying customer. -
Inappropriate?mirx, we're having the same exact problem with ExpanDrive. File permissions should be maintained by sftpdrive/expandrive and not be left to the end user to correct every single file. Unfortunately for us, we learned of this major flaw AFTER the 30-day money back period had expired!
I’m frustrated.

Inappropriate? If you right click on a drive in ExpanDrive for windows, you have the option of setting the creation mask bits for files that are created on the server. Have you tried this out?

Inappropriate? The creation mask option fixed it. Thanks! It looks like my program must be writing a new file, instead of updating the existing file, causing the permissions to be lost.
