I Killed ExpanDrive by removing MacFUSE.prefPane
I just upgraded to a new MacBook Pro. In the process, I cleaned up my system a bit and removed unneeded stuff. I deleted several third-party system preference panels including MacFUSE. Now I knew, that ExapanDrive uses MacFuse, but I thought that ExpanDrive had a "built-in" copy of MacFuse. Not the standard issue MacFuse. In fact, I am pretty sure that I have installed a stand alone copy of MacFuse, but never really used it.
So I deleted MacFUSE.prefPane.
ExpanDrive continued to work, and say that it was connecting to remove SFTP sites, however, the mount points did not appear in the Finder. And the Alias in /Volumes was reported as broken.
I tried reinstall ExpanDrive, but the problem remained.
Reading the Wiki, I saw that ExpanDrive does in fact use the standard issue MacFuse, so I downloaded the current version of MacFuse, and ExpanDrive started to work.
ExpanDrive should report that MacFuse is missing and offer reinstall it, and the installer should reinstall MacFuse as well.
