One of the folders specified wasn't there (was your backup drive connected?)

The Remote machine has SSH, and AFP enabled, and my adminUserName has read/write access on the Remote

My machine and the Remote are both on the same subnet 192.168.1.x

Here's what I tried :

( 1 ) Make sure SSH is setup and working correctly :

[2009.18.02](11:23AM) -> [adminUserName] ~ $ ssh adminUserName@BackupMachine.local

The authenticity of host 'BackupMachine.local (192.168.1.119)' can't be established.
RSA key fingerprint is 3d:43:59:37:a3:91:f1:c3:9a:39:a3:d3:37:af:f0:44.

Are you sure you want to continue connecting (yes/no)?
yes <cr>

Warning: Permanently added 'BackupMachine.local,192.168.1.119' (RSA) to the list of known hosts.
Password: adminPassWord <cr>

Starting up bash...

[2009.18.02](11:30AM) -> [adminUserName] ~ $ exit

logout
SSH Connection to BackupMachine.local closed.

( 2 ) Connect with ExpanDrive

If I mount the Remote using ExpanDrive and try to using :

ExpanDrive Dialog Setup :
Drive Type : SFTP(SSH)
Server : BackupMachine.local OR 192.168.1.79
Username : adminUserName
Password : adminPassWord
Drive Name : BUP_01
Remote Path : /Volumes/BUP_01/
Port : 22
Reconnect at login : checked

( A ) IF(Successful) the backup drive on the Remote machine is mounted on my desktop, and I can manually open the folders and drag/drop files.

( B ) Sometimes the folders appear, and other times they appear ONLY briefly, followed by a message within the Remote Drive Finder Window :

"adminUserName@BackupMachine.local cannot currently be reached".

If I eject the Remote Drive, by selecting "eject" from the ExpanDrive Drive Manager dialog and reload the Remote Drive AGAIN, sometimes I get the error message, and sometimes I can see the folders. The connection is inconsistent at best, but with afp://BackupMachine.local it WORKS EVERY TIME.

At first I thought it might be caused by the fact that my adminPassWord was not the same on both machines, so I changed them to match, but that did not help.

( 3 ) Here is a terminal session after connecting using ExpanDrive and loading the Remote Backup Drive :

[2009.18.02](12:37PM) -> [adminUserName] ~ $ sudo /usr/local/bin/runpsync 0 -d 0 '/www_Misc' '/Volumes/BUP_01/www_Misc'

ERROR :
Wed Feb 18 12:37:40 2009
One of the folders specified wasn't there (was your backup drive connected?)

I disconnected, i.e. 'ejected' the remote drive.

( 4 ) I then went to the Finder Menu --> Go --> Connect to Server...
and loaded the same drive using afp://BackupMachine.local

Here is a terminal session after connecting and loading the Remote Backup Drive :

[2009.18.02](12:37PM) -> [adminUserName] ~ $ sudo /usr/local/bin/runpsync 0 -d 0 '/www_Misc' '/Volumes/BUP_01/www_Misc'

I ran many tests, and the outcome was always the same....

Any ideas ?
