Inappropriate?it's about SftpDrive, but I don't seem to be able to remove ExpanDrive from the list of products here.

Inappropriate?Kurmanka - it can indeed run on 64 bit windows!
I’m happy he made SftpDrive 64 bit compatible

Inappropriate?Jeff, I'm also using WinXpPro 64-bit (sp2). I installed SftpDrive last night out of desperation since x64 XP has big and unsolved problems with transferring larger sized files via all versions of samba I've tried. Regrettably, I've noticed that windows explorer has blown up several times on me since installing SftpDrive. Many entries in the logs say "The shell stopped unexpectedly and Explorer.exe was restarted." Several other entries are of the form "The application, C:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXE, generated an application error The error occurred on 07/16/2008 @ 01:11:24.531 The exception generated was c0000005 at address 000007FF7F01BB08 (comctl32!DefSubclassProc)"
I really like the idea of SftpDrive in theory and would very much like the convenience of having a drive mapping over ssh for my farther flung unix hosts, but I'm a little skeptical that it will operate reliably in the scenarios that am used to running every day to my local fileserver. I do a lot of heavy transfers over this gigabit connection. Everything from running apps installed on the server to running 6 gig VDI hard disc images through VirtualBox and playing winamp on large FLAC files all the time. If you say it can handle all this then I'm hopeful, but so far I've got these unexplained failures. Can you suggest anything that might help?
Thanks,
Bill
PS: SftpDrive is a really great idea which seems to have a very good basic design. Kudos on that, and on hooking up with this getsatisfaction.com thing, which also seems to be quite well done itself.
I’m undecided as of the first 24 hours of the 6 week trial

bill - can you email support@magnetk.com and we'll work with you on this? -
Inappropriate?Don't run XP x64, which was a niche product intended for use for CAD workstations and the like. Vista x64 tends to work better for general-purpose scenarios. If you run XP, run 32-bit XP.
I've seen poor behavior on large files on Sftpdrive, including unexplained slowdowns. If I need to transfer a big file, or do random-access within the file, I would use WinScp instead. Or, use Windows file-sharing and set up Samba on the target Un*x system. I use Sftpdrive for cases where I don't control the system on the other end.
