SftpDrive reconnect takes a while in Windows 2003
After a while the SftpDrive connections seem to disconnect and take a while to reconnect and display the contents in the Windows Explorer.
It takes about 22 seconds before the contents is displayed; no CPU activity; Windows 2003 SP2 (tested on 2 computers). No problems on Windows 2000.

Inappropriate?PeterZ, do you have any DFS shares attached?

Inappropriate?Hello Jeff,
I do not use any network shares besides SftpDrive.
What I discovered is that accessing the SftpDrive connections from the Command Prompt are instant and from some applications it is also quick/normal.
So it has (again) something to do with the Windows Explorer. Maybe the build in ZIP
support? Does anyone know how to remove this default Windows ZIP support?

Inappropriate?I have found the cause!
Even after upgrading to ExpanDrive and IE8 the problem still existed. So, after searching the internet I found a lot of people having problems with network shares. Internet Explorer is causing it. The security settings prohibit 'direct' access. Internet Explorer thinks the drive mapping belongs to the 'Internet zone'.
I now use the following (insecure!) settings:
IE -> Tools -> Internet Options -> Security
Select "Internet" and click "Custom Level"
Scroll down to "Launching applications and unsafe files" and "Enable" this option.
Now it works like it used to be!
It's wise to not use IE anymore to browse the internet due to this settings.
If anyone has a better solution, please report it.
Regards,
Peter
