Specific consistent Windows Explorer crashes.
Certain files on my SFTP drive crash Windows Explorer. The crashes are consistent. Size, type or name does not matter. But specific files will repeatedly crash or succeed respectively. Any idea why?

Inappropriate? What is the name/size/type of the file? It's quite possibly an interaction with a shell extension that we're somehow poorly handling.

The file named "ER- Man at Company.pdf" 474,657 bytes works fine. The file named "ER- Man at Company Receipts.pdf" 384,404 bytes fails repeatedly in the same directory with the same ownership/permissions. That file was reuploaded to ensure it wasn't corrupted. It also was copied back to the desktop and opened locally without error. -
Inappropriate?Interesting - does this happen on other users machines, do you know? or is it confined to your machine.

The crashes are consistent regardless of machine. It also happens on both Windows XP and 2000. Note that dragging and dropping files works perfectly, but the problem manifests only when attempting to access the file with an application directly. -
Inappropriate?Alan - interesting
are you opening with Acrobat?
Does this problem occur with all PDF files? or just this one

Here are some instructions about how to capture a crash dump for explorer
http://webkit.org/quality/crashlogs.html
Could you send jeff@magnetk.com a dump file or two, when explorer crashes - and I'll sift through it and see what I can make of the problem
