Trouble Connecting to FTP Servers with ExpanDrive?
Are you having trouble connecting to an FTP server? Does ExpanDrive hang during the connection process, before the button turns green? Read on.
If ExpanDrive fails to connect, the first thing to do is to try upgrading to the latest beta. We may have already fixed the problem. You can have ExpanDrive download the latest beta automatically from the Preferences screen.
The FTP “standard” isn’t as well standardized as one might like if one were trying to make a filesystem out of it. We try hard to make ExpanDrive robust, but we don’t have access to every FTP that’s out there, and so we might not know exactly how to handle the output we’re getting from your server.
If you can give us a temporary login to your server, which we would us only to test the server’s output, then we can probably fix the issue rather quickly (and we’ll give you a generous ExpanDrive coupon for your trouble.) You can email it to us at support@expandrive.com.
If you can’t give us a login to the server, then try to find out the name and version of the FTP server software that you’re trying to connect to. We’ll see if we can’t get the information we need from that.

Inappropriate?I just downloaded the current product (upgraded from sftpdrive, which worked fine). Correct password won't authenticate, though FileZilla and DreamWeaver work fine through same port 22 same user & pass. What's up? -
Inappropriate?This didn't work for me. As soon as I connect to the root directory of my server it brings the Finder to its knees and I have to force quit both the Finder and ExpandDrive.
I'm sorry guys - I really want this to be the app it should be, but it's far too unstable to be in a version 2.0 paid release.
You're getting an awful lot of beta testers here for a paid app. I can't see myself paying for this once the trial is over unless it radically improves. I would suggest you make this a free beta until all this stuff is fixed.
