Version 2 of ExpanDrive is slow and consistently fails
I have been a happy user of ExpanDrive on a Mac for about a year now. When version 2 came out I have been quick to upgrade expecting the promissed enhancements in speed and stability of the application. Unfortunately the experience was far from promissed and expected. Version 2 is slow to connect, it annoyingly pops up a new finder window upon connecting (Version 1 just mounted a disk), it is slow in listing folder contents, sometimes (when there is a large number of files in the folder) not listing the contents at all, it is slow in transfering files, often failing to transfer them at all. All in all the upgrade has proved to be a frustrating downgrade to an unusable product.
Luckily, I have saved a copy of ExpanDrive v1.3.1 and keep reverting to using it instead of version 2. In comparison to v2 it just works.
I am using ExpanDrive to mount ssh volumes from a combination of Mac OS X Leopard Server (most of the time), FreeBSD and Sun servers. I have not extensively tested and compared the combinations of ExpanDrive version and server, the experience however seems comparable across all the servers I connect to.

Inappropriate? Are any of the ExpanDrive people working on this? Are they acknowledging the problem?
I’m fucking frustrated

Inappropriate? This support forum isn't actively monitored - please email support@expandrive.com and it'll go right to the engineers. Thanks!

Inappropriate?Yeah lots of people are having this. The beta builds worked great on snow leopard. But 6 people who use it in my office now on 10.6 are having lots of beach balling, where before it worked perfectly. Same here, cept mine won't even install. There's another thread about my issue though.
Love this product, just want to see it fixed! -
Inappropriate?Ckizer, what do you mean by “the beta builds”? Were there builds that worked (or continue to work) better than our current release? That would really help us narrow down what might have changed.

Inappropriate? What I mean is that, before release of 10.6 GM, those of us with ADC accounts had no trouble using expand drive back then, but with whatever updates have occurred in the last 2 months, it's gotten extremely bad.
I can try to find more details, however I'm still stuck at it wanted me to install mac fuse, another employee just had me manually reinstall macfuse, reboot, and use the remove scripts, but still expandrive pops up asking to install macfuse then fails.
I'm totally frustrated as Expandrive worked last week, and now I can't even get it to install! It thinks Fuse is not installed when it clearly is!
As for the slow/beachball issues I can get more data for you, I love the product, but I need it working today to get my work done.
I'm happy to do ichat screenshare, and hand over control while you or someone at Expandrive pokes around.
My AIM is kizer@me.com -
Inappropriate?Don't know if it's OS 10.6 related, cause I'm using 1.5.8 and am having tons of beachballing with ExpanDrive, which I virtually never had in time past. Maybe I should try to dig up an old copy of Expandrive v1.3 myself...
I’m frustrated
