Why should I pay $20 to upgrade to ExpanDrive 2.0?
Why should I pay $20 to upgrade to ExpanDrive 2.0? I understand that developing software isn't free, but I'm hesitant to rely on a product that will require me to pay to upgrade. I bought 1.x more than 60 days ago but found it unusable because it was slow and unreliable. I just can't justify paying another 66% of the purchase price just to get the functionality I wanted in the first place.
Take a cue from other applications in this space like Textmate and Transmit. Both offer free upgrades and have attracted a loyal following being the defacto standard for quality must-have apps. I really like the concept of ExpanDrive, I just wish it was more consumer friendly.

Inappropriate?I bought ExpanDrive in january, and I was waiting/hoping it got improved and bugs fixed. This is partially done but it requires you to pay for it. After reading these comment and the ones on getsatisfaction.com i can conclude this version isn't working flawlessly. I guess i have to wait till version 3.0 till all the bugs are fixed. I'm not going to pay twice.

a 20,- upgrade and no noticable changes.
It may be a complete re-write but hey, the only change I see (from a user pov, judging on the 2.0 demo) is 20,- less in my pocket for the same funcionality.
Imho a bad example of upgrade policy that doesn't really encourage anyone to actually pay for applications. You never know when/or for what reason your license "gets discontinued".
It's a smashing app and I love it but I'll stick with 1.x for the time being...
