Expono seems to allow posting of works by others, as long as the poster has permission to do so. This is really great, because who didn't lend his camera to his friend, had his partner take a photo of himself or post historic photos (childhood, school) or wedding photos. At Flickr you risk great hardships when posting photos taken by others: http://www.flickr.com/help/forum/en-u...
The only missing feature to make this somewhat better for all parties, is the ability to credit third parties for photos you have uploaded.
That way, when I upload works by my friends I'd be given the opportunity to credit them and they would be the one to be credited in meta data and machine readable code, and of course well presented on the photo page. On Flcikr I have tried to solve this with tags and descriptions: http://www.flickr.com/photos/dittaeva...

I’m

This is a great idea. We've actually talked about this way back.. probably a year ago, but I guess it got flooded with all the other ideas at the time.
A smart way to solve this would be:
You add a photographer to each photo in a similar way you tag a person. The difference is that the photographer will only be a text field under the "photo details" area with support for auto-completion.
Adding a photographer the first time will automatically add him/her to your contacts. The next time you type the name it will be auto-completed.
One of expono's unique features is in how we handle identities (contacts). Adding a photographer as an identity brings several benefits. It's easy for you to give the photographer access to the photo (even he is not registered on expono and the photo is non-public).
If the photographer actually sign up on Expono he/she will claim ownership over his identity which means that he/she will se a list of photos where he/she is credited. Also the photographer name can be linked to his/her Expono account.
I've registered a ticket to implement this.

That sounds great Magnus, but make sure one can set a default photographer, override per upload batch and correct individual images later.
